Recently, the paper "Can Housing Booms Elevate Financing Costs of Financial Institutions?" co-authored by Associate Professor Chao Ma of the Department of Finance, School of Economics and the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), and Shuoxun Zhang, Distinguished Associate Researcher of the Business School, Sichuan University, has been published in Vol. 167, 2024 of Journal of Development Economics, a leading international journal of development economics.
Chao Ma, Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University, is currently an Associate Professor at WISE and the Department of Finance, School of Economics, Xiamen University. His main research areas are empirical industrial organization, household finance, corporate finance, real estate and applied econometrics. He has published in international academic journals such as International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Housing Economics, and Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.
