Recently, the paper “Proximity and Knowledge Spillovers: Evidence from the Introduction of New Airline Routes” co-authored by Sifan Zhou, an assistant professor of the Department of Public Finance, School of Economics and the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), associate professor John Bai of Northeastern University, and researcher Wan Jin of Stanford University, has been published online in Management Science, a top journal of management.

Sifan Zhou, Ph.D. in Economics from State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany and postdoctoral fellow at the Center of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (CMSA), Harvard University from 2015-2017, is now assistant professor at the Department of Public Finance, School of Economics and WISE. Her research areas include labor economics, and economics of science, technology and innovation. Some of her research projects are funded by the Youth Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Youth Program of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of the Ministry of Education. She has published in international academic journals such as Management Science, Regional Science and Urban Economics, and Research Policy.
