A Call for Papers for the International Symposium on Scienti

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON SCIENTIFIC CONCEPT OF DEVELOPMENT AND CHINESE NEW APPROACH TO INDUSTRIALIZATION Sponsord by: Institute of Economics, Xiamen University, Xiamen, PRC Time: 16-17 July 2005 Venue: Xiamen (Detailed place to be advised later) THEME: The main themes of this symposium will be as follows: 1. The political economy perspective on scientific concept of development 2. A new approach to industrialization and institutional innovation 3. The late-come effect of China and its achievement on the development of new-style industrialization 4. Regional disparity and regional coordinated development 5. Mechanism of anti-poverty on the process of economic development PAPER SUBMISSIONS: Interested experts and scholars are requested to submit papers by 31 May 2005. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to the symposium and the accommodations during the conference (one author per paper for multi-authored papers) will be provided by the sponsor. The accepted papers will be compiled into a book for publishing and some of them will be published in Economic Issues in China (Journal). Papers should be sent by hard copy to the following contact address or e-mail to jjs6@xmu.edu.cn . Postcode: 361005 The format of paper is the same as the one in Economic Issues in China sponsored by Institute of Economics, Xiamen University (including notes and reference). All the papers should have title and abstract both in Chinese and in English. Remember indicating “paper for international symposium on political economy at Xiamen University” at the upper left corner of the cover.
