柏林自由大学是德国首都柏林最大的综合性公立大学，也是由德国政府评出的九所精英大学之一，大学很多优秀科研项目将获得政府特殊资助。自由大学的教学和研究领域十分广泛，其中大部分研究生课程面向年轻的科研人员，为他们提供相应的研究型教学；大学也同样关注国际博士研究生的培养，在自然科学(如化学，生物学，物理学，药剂学等)学科中专门设置了英语授课形式。

Freie Universitaet Berlin is a major comprehensive German research university and has been awarded with the label "Excellence University" by the German government.
The Freie Universitaet Berlin also is one of the distinguished foreign universities working closely with the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Under the cooperation agreement with the CSC the Freie Universitaet Berlin is providing high quality research training for qualified students from leading Chinese universities with the aim to contributing to the development of education and research collaborations between Freie Universitaet and leading Chinese universities.
Freie Universitaet Berlin has just published a list of more than 50 open positions for Chinese postgraduate students who plan to apply for a CSC scholarship in 2009. The offer is encompassing a broad range of subject areas and is easily accessible online:
Almost all positions are compatible both, with so-called Sandwich-type PhD studies, ultimately leading to a PhD degree of the home university in China, as well as with full PhD studies at Freie Universitaet Berlin.
